North Star All-State Musicians Announced

The North Star Music Department is pleased to announce this year's All-State students.  These musicians will participate in the Illinois Music Educators Association's All-State Music Conference January 28 -31 in Peoria, Illinois.  Thousands of students throughout the state auditioned for this opportunity and North High School will be well represented.  Congratulations to the following students:

Honor Chorus: Brooke Lauritzen, Jack Shales and Peter Daley

All-State Chorus: Danielle Floyd and Jonathan Stombres

Vocal Jazz Ensemble: Samantha Resser

Jazz Band: Steve Sefton

Future Music Educator: Michael Backer

We are also pleased to announce that junior, Josh Wood, will be honored at this years Conference for winning the original composition competition in the categoties of large ensemble and piano.  Josh also won the original composition for piano at last years conference.  We are indeed fortuate to have such a promising young composer as part of North's music department. 

Finally, North's Vocal Jazz Workshop has been honored by being selected to perform at this year's conference.  They will be performing on Friday, January 30 at 9:30 a.m. at the Apollo Theatre in Peoria, Illinois.
