We are so proud of all of our alumni no matter what they do after high school, but as a music department it's especially exciting to see their successes as musicians after graduation. Kelly O'Dwyer ('08) has been selected to be a member of the inaugural Vocal Jazz ensemble in the University of Illinois School of Music. Also at U of I, Samantha Resser ('09) pulled off the rare feat of auditioning into the a cappella jazz group "No Strings Attached" and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble as a freshman.

This summer, several of our current students (Shannon Romba, Emory Tower, Austin Tower) and recent graduates (Kelly O'Dwyer, Brooke Laurtizen, Jack Shales) attended the First Annual New York Voices Summer Camp. From all reports, it was a phenomenal experience. As part of the camp process, some soloists were chose to open for New York Voices at their closing concert and Brooke Lauritzen was among those selected. Due to her talent, hard work, and committment to the art form of jazz singing, Brooke was also named outstanding soloist at the camp an awarded a beautiful, top quality microphone by the camp's sponsor, Sennheiser USA. As a result of that, Brooke was contacted by the Sennheiser company and featured this month as their Unsigned Artist for September. You can click here to see her photos and bio on the Sennheiser USA web site.
