Recent changes to freshman year requirements have made it very difficult to schedule more than one core music class (choir, concert band, orchestra). However, it is possible if you are willing to take certain classes later (junior or senior year), take summer school, or forego lunch.
The good news is that scheduling one core music class is not a problem in the least. Also, it is still possible to take a core class and jazz (vocal, instrumental) since students take jazz in place of lunch (they eat in the room at the end of class).
While it is possible to take more than one core class beginning in the sophomore year, it is important to communicate those intentions with the music department as soon as possible in order to ensure proper placement. Please contact us if you have any questions about scheduling music classes.
